The position is responsible for leading the annual internal control evaluation in accordance with OMB Circular A-123 Management’s Responsibility for Enterprise Risk Management and Internal Control . Additionally, this position will support the Internal Audit function performing moderate to complex audits of business systems and incurred costs.
Lead the annual assessment to evaluate and report on the effectiveness of internal control over the Financial Management Assurance (FMA) and Entity Assessment Tool (EAT) processes.
Conduct risk assessments to determine internal controls to be evaluated.
Evaluate proposed test plans to ensure adequate and sufficient coverage of testing to be performed.
Coordinate and facilitate testing performed by the respective functional or project personnel.
Develop corrective action plans and track through completion for control deficiencies identified.
Coordinate submission of required deliverables according to published schedules.
Participate or lead routine to moderately complex internal audits of UCOR business processes or subcontractors.
Perform engagement level risk assessments and develop detailed audit testing programs.
Prepare sufficient and competent supporting audit documentation and related audit reports.
Support the LEAN Program by identifying and working to eliminate waste from work processes.

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or accounting or other appropriate discipline, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
A minimum of ten years of relevant professional experience with at least four years of audit or internal control evaluation experience.
Knowledge, skills and experience in performing internal control evaluations and reporting results.
Knowledge of Government contracting requirements including
Strong working knowledge of software applications, including MS Office including Word and Excel is required.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Master’s degree in accounting or business administration preferred.
Federal Acquisition Regulations is preferred.
Knowledge of internal control frameworks (COSO, OMB Green Book) is strongly preferred.
Knowledge, skills and experience with audit software tools such as TeamMate and ACL is strongly preferred.
Professional auditing or related certification (CPA, CIA, or CISA) is preferred.
