Job Summary

Manages, performs, and schedules inspections, maintenance, and

adjustments of assigned aircrew flight equipment (AFE), associated supplies, and inventories

assets. Inspects, maintains, packs and adjusts aircrew flight equipment such as flight helmets,

oxygen, oxygen masks, parachutes, flotation devices, survival kits, helmet mounted devices, aircrew

night vision and other ocular systems, anti-G garments, aircrew eye and respiratory protective

equipment, chemical biological protective oxygen masks and coveralls, and other types of AFE

and aircrew chemical defense systems. Repairs fabric and rubber components, including

protective clothing, thermal radiation barriers, flotation equipment, and various parachutes.

Evaluates problems and determines feasibility of repair or replacement related to inspecting and

repairing fabric, rubber equipment, and parachutes. Evaluates work orders for fabrication of

authorized items. Performs requirements in accordance with the procedures established in

the PWS. Performs Aviation Life Support Systems (ALSS) maintenance in support of activities

assigned aircraft, and staff/student flight designated personnel. Takes direction from senior supervisors.

Minimum Requirements

•AECOM is immediately hiring qualified Aircraft Mechanic I/ ALSE Mechanics in support of U.S. Navy Aviation maintenance operations at NAS Whidbey Island, WA.

•Shift work and detachment is required.

•High School graduate or equivalent, Navy Aviation Class A School (or military equivalent), with a minimum three (3) years actual and recent aviation maintenance experience, with 18 months as a Quality Assurance Inspector, or possess a valid A&P license.

•Must have 3 years o-level aircraft system maintenance experience, with 3 years inspector experience (CDI, CDQAR). Must obtain CDI within 30 days from start date.

•Knowledge and use of special tools/equipment required to perform assigned maintenance tasks is mandatory.

•Any additional qualifications or license required to maintain aircraft.

•Must be physically able to perform all assigned duties.

•You may be asked to qualify in additional, Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR). These positions are “as needed” positions, and will be offered to qualified individuals based on seniority.

•Inspect and maintain all company and customer assets, including all assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), in accordance with applicable directives, and ensure that those assets are utilized in a safe, effective and efficient manner.

•Participate in the investigation of any injury and/or the resolution of any problems in quality or performance that may hinder production or be detrimental to the program.

•Participate in the training and qualification of new personnel.

•Promote communication to enhance and encourage employee awareness of accident prevention, quality of work, and environmental compliance.

•Promote positive communication with all site departments, company management, and our customers to ensure the proper execution of our contract.

•Participate in required daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual training and ensure that it is documented in a timely manner.

•Initial attendance sheet on a daily basis, verifying your start time and proper accounting of all assigned PPE.
