Job Summary

An opportunity exists for an experienced PM to join our site based team in support ofa major programme of work for the MoD basedinNorfolk.

The works comprise the design, planning and construction of the following facilities: operational accommodation (aircraft hangar and admin building), a newcatering facility, a new secure enclave in the vicinity of the existing site; new aircraft shelters, new aircraft operating surfaces and AGL lighting.

The role involves responsibility at a senior project management level and includes managingaDesign & Construct contract under NEC3. The candidate will be working full-time on site overseeing the delivery of a construction contract on a live military airfield.

As PM you will work as part of AECOM’Sexisting projectmanagement teamcomprisingPMs and Site Supervisors, with support from internal and external multidisciplinary support teams, including sub consultants, as required. This project is a main works project in a programme of enabling and main works projects and as such there will be a requirement for strong interface management with the other work packages.

As Project Manager you will work as part of AECOM’S project management team and be responsible for successfully managing the delivery of a discrete construction contract;

  • The role will cover the construction phase, including the commissioning & Take Over phases;

  • Management and Contract Administration (NEC3) of the construction project;

  • You will possess the skills and experience to lead and manage a site based team on a technically complex project and for developing collaborative relationships with our clients, project and airfield stakeholders and other programme project teams;

  • Managing internal and external multidisciplinary support teams, including sub consultants;

  • Ability to work within a partnering environment and form effective working relationships;

  • Preparation of monthly PM reports;

  • Preparation of Risk Registers;

  • Commercially and contractually aware;

  • Responsible for delivering a broad range of project management concepts, tools and techniques;

  • Responsible for monitoring and reporting project performance metrics, including Earned Value Management;

  • Commitment to a high level of Health & Safety performance at the workplace and in the local environment.

Minimum Requirements

  • Good understanding and working knowledge of NEC3 contracts;

  • Proven 10 years of relevant experience in major construction projects, with a value >£50M;

  • Experience of working on live civilian/military airfields would be an advantage;

  • Experience in the Project Management of multi-discipline engineering design and construction projects (>£50M Capital Expenditure);

  • Experience of successfully delivering project goals during construction to project handover stage;

  • Strong experience of delivering large technically complex projects;

  • Experienced in a Client management role;

  • Experienced and confident at leading internal and external teams, plus Stakeholder Management;

  • Commercially aware, in terms of understanding the key components of Cost and Change Management processes;

Preferred Qualifications

  • Academic Qualifications - ideally MSc or MEng Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering, Project management qualification (either academic, professional or both) preferred;

  • Membership of a recognised Construction Industry Professional Body i.e. MRICS, MICE, MCIOB, MAPM or other equivalent institution membership;

  • NEC3 Accredited;

  • Holder of a current CSCS card

  • Security Clearance to SC level will be required.
