Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking an engineer to participate in the requirement definition, design, development, testing, and documentation of computer software for the US Navy. Analyze program output, code, and documentation for correctness and consistency and provide recommendations for improvements. Ability to develop software in Linux and Windows Server environments using SCRUM/Agile methodologies. Prior US Navy (specifically submarine) Communications system and/or SPAWAR Software Development Process Experience preferred.

  1. Participate in software requirements review, preliminary and critical design reviews, integration readiness review, and software acceptance reviews.

  2. Design, write, test, deploy and support software code, as assigned.

  3. Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts.

  4. Interact with senior customer personnel on significant technical matters, often requiring coordinated activity across organizational lines.

  5. Represent the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical problems associated with specific projects.


Minimum Requirements

  • A Bachelor degree in a related technical discipline (e.g., BSEE, BSCS) or equivalent in Computer Science or related field and 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience are required.

  • Good communications and analytical skills

  • Position may require travel.

  • Position requires and Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with developing C++, C#, Microsoft Foundation Class (MFC), and Java

  • Experience with Team Foundation Server, .NET, SQL, J2EE, JDBC, Install shield, and scripting (power shell/VBA)

  • Ability to develop software in Linux and Windows Server environments using SCRUM/Agile methodologies

  • Prior US Navy (specifically submarine) Communications system and/or SPAWAR Software Development Process Experience
