AECOM’s Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM’s Government business line and is comprised of three divisions — International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a candidate with detailed knowledge of fleet modernization in support the Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center.

  1. Coordinate with the Regional Maintenance and Modernization Coordination Office (RMMCO) webmaster, providing administrative and technical assistance for the modernization program, to support gatekeepers during AIT installation document review and ensure compliance of all NAVSEA standards.

  2. Provide RMMCO technical services for the management and distribution of waterfront modernization alteration-related data/information to NAVSEA/FLEET/TYCOMs/NSSA Maintenance Teams for pre-planning, execution and the completion of ship overhaul availabilities.

  3. Through access in Navy Data Environment, the RMMCO database and direct liaison with other government and military activities, ensure all shipboard AIT-installed alterations have been formally approved and planned for installation or meet compliance of all waiver requirements.

Minimum Requirements

  • Vocational/technical training beyond high school and at least twelve (12) years of job-related experience within the last 25 years in the operation, repair and maintenance of naval or marine propulsion and auxiliary systems. A Minimum of six (6) of those years must have been in a position of team leader or coordinator over a subordinate work force involved in the physical maintenance and report of mechanical equipment or systems.

  • SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years experience within last 10 years: (1) with 600 PSI or 1200 PSI steam propulsion, diesel propulsion or gas turbine propulsion and auxiliary equipment at a level equivalent to the qualification of an engineering officer of the watch; (2) A minimum of two (2) of the years in availability planning, modernization, repair and testing of shipboard equipment and systems; (3) A minimum of one (1) of the years as a technical instructor or as an IMA quality assurance inspector. (4) The specialized experience shall demonstrate the individual’s ability to: A. Work independently B. Supervise technical personnel in performance of operation, maintenance, modification and repair C. Provide OJT to technical personnel in operation, repair and maintenance (including us of test equipment) (5) Desired is a minimum of four (4) of the years in administration of the Navy 3-M and supply system;

  • Minimum of three (3) years specific work experience with the RMMCO Database application and using Navy Data Environment (NDE) to navigate modernization applications/programs (NM, CDMD-OA, Entitled Process, and ILS Module) to obtain information verifying alteration maturity and authorization.

  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of Naval equipment, modernization, and operations; other commands, i.e., FLEET, TYCOMs, NAVSEA, and ISEAs; and JFMM and NMP-MOM requirements and milestones.

  • Programmatic knowledge and understanding of processing and closing out RMMCO Forms for SURFLANT, AIRLANT, and SUBLANT alteration-related equipment upgrades is mandatory.

  • Experience in reviewing and navigation in NTIRA, AMPS, and RMAIS.

  • Experienced with creating data and navigation in VSB.

  • Experienced with NMARMC Maintenance Team (MT) Integrated Process Team Development (IPTD) conferences requirements and RMMCO integration within process development.

  • Have knowledge of the structure and role of government oversight of contracted ship availabilities for US Navy surface ship modernization and overhaul as it relates to the Naval Supervising Activity (NSA).

  • Position may require travel to fleet concentration areas.

  • Position requires a current Security Clearance; Ability to obtain a Common Access Card

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with CNO availability planning and execution of ship alterations/modernization.
