AECOM’s Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM’s Government business line and is comprised of three divisions — International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. We optimize the reliability, availability and sustainability of equipment, logistics systems and facilities for clients around the world. GSS supports the U.S. Government, non-U.S. Governments and industry clients with worldwide program management, planning, design, operations and maintenance, logistics, aviation services, security, international development, environmental and civil engineering and mission and intelligence support.

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking an Functional Analyst to provide analysis expertise in support of a wide range of related operations and research efforts. Participates as a team member as part of a larger project or may serve as a Task Leader on less complex tasks under the guidance of a Team Leader. This position will be located at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC) located on the Norfolk, VA Naval Base.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze and research material to gain a thorough technical understanding of a complex subject area supporting a task assignment. Task assignment may include one or more of the following analysis: strategic planning and analysis; demand and capacity analysis; economic analysis; regulatory analysis; safety and risk analysis; system operation performance analysis; and information analysis.

  2. Prepare oral presentations and written reports to management, indicating solution or range of possible alternatives in rank of desirability and probability of success when there is no single solution.

  3. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related scientific or technical discipline required. A minimum of 5 years general experience is required. 2 years specialized experience is required in one or more of the following areas: simulation and modeling methods and mathematical structuring techniques for research and analysis; statistical analysis; risk assessment; development of multi-modal databases; design of graphic analyses of data using databases and information systems; developing information requirements for assessment and review; conducting complex multi-discipline information and analyses in support of a research and development technical staff.

  • Candidates without a degree must have a total of 9 years general experience and 4 years of specialized experience.

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel.

  • Must be able to work independently.

  • Must be able to collaborate with customers to define, identify, and produce metrics and/or analysis on a wide variety of topics.

  • Ability to break down complex analysis into simple easy to understand concepts.

  • Good oral and written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.

  • Position requires an Active Secret Security Clearance, which requires United States of America Citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Navy Processes.

  • Knowledge of Structured Query Language and or other Programming languages.
