Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a Watertight Door Repair Technician to provide watertight closure assessment and repairs on Coast Guard vessels. The position will be located at the Norfolk, Virginia office

Essential Responsibilities: Primary skills required are in water closure assessment and repair skills can be provided to candidates with some previous Damage Control training. Essential Responsibilities: Water Tight Door Repair.

  1. Perform assessment and repair to various water tight doors, hatches and scuttles.

  2. Provide instructional repair for Coast Guard Damage Control Petty Officers.

  3. Provide assessment debriefs to ship forces.

Work performed on Coast Guard vessels requires travel. Most watertight closure repair visits are conducted outside of the Norfolk Va. area. Position may involve routine lifting up to 50 pounds, regular handling, grasping, kneeling and carrying, and constant use of vision and mental alertness is required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Vocational/technical training beyond high school and at least 4 years of job-related experience or equivalent. Good communications and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs. Position may require travel. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

  • A minimum of 4 years general experience as a Navy or Coast Guard Damage Control Petty Officer working on water tight doors, scuttles and hatches.

  • A thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.

  • Possess a valid driver’s license

  • Capable of accessing DoD facilities (Rapid Gate or Common Access Card)

  • Capable of obtaining a Travel Expense Credit Card

  • This position requires occasional travel

  • Requires ability to obtain security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship
