AECOM is seeking a Division Vice President of Science and Engineering to implement and execute the full lifecycle of assigned new business initiatives within the Sustainment, Engineering and Acquisition (SEA) Sector and the Systems Engineering and Information Solutions (SEIS) Strategic Business Unit. The selected candidate will develop winning marketing and business strategies; interact directly with potential customers, potential teammates, and internal stakeholders to develop and qualify opportunities; lead capture activities; lead solution development activities and oversee specific pipeline opportunities to accomplish management and financial objectives for new business.
Responsible for the overall functioning and performance of the business development function. Establish and maintain an effective business development strategy and planning process.
Work with the President and General Manager, Operational Directors and Managers and others to develop marketing objectives, strategies and plans for the division. Participate in the adequate planning for future development and growth of the division, and in the preparation of division plans (e.g., two-year plan, strategic plan, etc.); and periodically present such plans for review and approval by the Corporation.
Track, monitor, and report on submitted and pending bids and approaching business opportunities.
Appraise and evaluate lost bids and develop and recommend ways to improve the division's win rate. Report results, issues, and concerns to the President and General Manager.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive database on competitors and potential teaming partners including capabilities, cost information, and business strategies.
Develop and implement effective marketing campaigns to obtain new sales or increased sales with current customers.
Participate in investigations pertaining to joint ventures, the acquisition of businesses, or the sale of assets.
Delegate portions of activities, responsibilities, and authorities, as necessary and desirable. Ensure that marketing responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities are defined and understood throughout the division.
Ensures that all marketing activities are carried out in compliance with internal policies and practices and laws and regulations.
Represents the company as appropriate in its relationship with customers, employees, competitors, suppliers, government agencies, community organizations, professional societies and similar groups.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Bachelors degree and 15 years of progressive management and marketing experience. Directly related proficiency, skill, and experience with government/commercial customers can be substituted for the degree preference.
Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills required.
Must be articulate with executive presence, creative and forward-looking, clear thinker and decision-maker, change agent, and have a track record of continuous business development activities and continuing education.
Position requires extensive travel.
Position requires the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance
.Knowledge of and experience with the following Navy activities: PEO Ships, SEA 21, NSWC Carderock, Regional Maintenance Centers.
Understanding of Navy maintenance, modernization, logistics and sustainment strategies.
