Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a Word Processor III to provide program and administrative support to MARMC Code 280 Managers including word processing, budget and workload review, reporting, and presentation of data. The position will be located at MARMC Building LF-18 on the Norfolk Naval Base, Norfolk, Virginia.

  1. Provide program support and interface for the Code 280 Division/Department managers utilizing programming support to track, monitor, analyze, and report related to MARMC historical, workload, budget, and funding data, current execution, and projections.

  2. Provide reporting functions including plans, schedules, program/project, technical, time, and correspondence/Naval message documentation in support of MARMC.

  3. Prepare, update and maintain programmatic material consisting of briefs, presentations, charts, graphs, and metrics, etc.

  4. Provide word processing support to identify various branch, division, and department managers, command websites, documentation, and storage lockers/areas in accordance with Records Management requirements at MARMC.

  5. Provide word processing and coordination support for management meetings, inventory assessments, zone inspections, and various audits.

Minimum Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years experience within last 5 years of practical word processing requiring a general knowledge of varied and advanced functions of different types of software.

  • ​A minimum of 1 year specialized experience within last 5 years of practical word processing which includes the organization and formatting of technical manuscripts and associated data to produce final documentation from rough drafts provided by engineers and technicians; a comprehensive knowledge of software applications and office practices, and a high degree of skill in applying software functions to prepare complex and detailed documents.

  • Experience in U.S. Navy engineering and technical environment.

  • Strong Microsoft Office product skills including MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint, MS Access skills; must have strong experience in MS Access including embedded Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) for database development and manipulation.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work.

  • May require occasional travel, possibly 5% of the time.

  • Current Active Secret Security Clearance and ability to obtain a Common Access Card required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree desired

  • Desired experience in transcription of written text into type written documents using correct and appropriate formats regarding DOD and commercial correspondence.

  • Experience in collecting and analyzing historical, workload, budget projections and execution and funding data.

  • Experience in preparing, updating and maintaining programmatic material consisting of briefs, presentations, charts, graphs, and metrics, etc.
