Job Summary

The Transportation division of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Transit/Rail Senior Project Manager for immediate employment in the New York, NY office. The individual will be responsible in providing leadership and strategic guidance to the transit rail sub-business line. This position will require frequent interaction and collaboration with counterparts locally and in other regions to pursue, win, and successfully manage and execute work for AECOM. Candidate will serve as a Client Account Manager (CAM) and support/collaborate with the other CAM’s in the Transit Rail market.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Management of the development and execution of project(s) scope, schedule and budget

  • Preparation of project updates, presentations, recommendations and other project plans

  • Review and development of progress and status reports

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction/Project Management

  • 15+ years of experience in managing transit design and construction projects

  • Ability to understand and interpret civil, electrical, and mechanical drawings

  • Experience in managing railroad work scope, budgets and schedules

  • Strong technical and project coordination skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Knowledge of railroad operations

  • Knowledge of Project Management scheduling and estimating

  • Knowledge of railroad engineering specifications and standards

  • Knowledge of construction when working in proximity to railroad operations

  • Proficient in the use of personal computer and office software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications

  • 20+ years of related experience

  • Professional Engineer license (PE)

  • Knowledge of large commuter rail organization(s) and operations
