The Opportunity

The Construction Services (CS) operating group of AECOM is looking for a Strategic Communications Specialist to support both the Communications & Strategy teams. The New York-based role will help drive the development, implementation, and communication of initiatives and deliverables for our Strategy, Communications and Finance teams. This is a great opportunity to be part of a high-performing, agile company while developing a versatile skillset, key responsibilities include:

  • Support Strategy and Communications teams and other key, diverse functions (e.g., Finance, Marketing, Operations) in preparing impactful qualitative and quantitative deliverables for internal and external audiences

  • Conduct research and analysis to prepare reports to support strategic initiatives, executive level communications

  • Research macroeconomic fundamentals, geographic trends, construction forecasts, industry drivers, etc., to support the development of strategic initiatives and other materials

  • Translate business objectives into strong online graphic design solutions with a solid understanding of visual communications for both digital and print

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field with an outstanding record of academic achievement is required

  • Technical skills: MS Office – PowerPoint/Word/Excel, Adobe Creative – Photoshop / InDesign / Illustrator

  • Analysis: Strong commitment to detail and a high comfort level with both quantitative and qualitative analysis

  • Creative: Comfortable with creating, preparing and editing (PowerPoint) presentations and on-screen presentations for C-level executives and various business units; Build information graphics, charts, graphs and prepare written documentations

  • Communication: Aptitude for articulating complex, highly technical detail in a simple, succinct manner; Superior editing and proofreading abilities, with proven experience in telling stories and adopting the right tone of voice for communication across different channels and for different target audiences

  • Quality: Understands, implements, and strictly adheres to the quality standards and procedures established by AECOM, including creative standards and guidelines; Provide quality assurance of all deliverables and manage creative responsibilities of assigned projects

  • Work style Excellent ability to prioritize work, create timelines, communicate resource needs and simultaneously balance multiple priorities to meet time-sensitive commitments and deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Salesforce CRM is preferred but not necessary

  • Prior experience in agency, consulting, corporate communications, strategic planning, or a large E&C (engineering & construction) firm is a plus

  • Proven record of leadership in a work setting and/or through extracurricular activities is ideal
