Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Senior Director – ESA Facilitiesfor employment in the New York, NY office.

This position is accountable for overseeing interim facility operations, equipment maintenance and project programs for the fixed and non-fixed installed facilities assets throughout ESA.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in real estate matters and street level entrance connectivity matters

  • Monitor the correction of conditions and exceptions to ensure asset readiness for ESA turnover to LIRR operation on the revenue service date

  • Safely administer high priority ESA assets and projects

  • Support delivery of in-contract, interim and preventive maintenance programs ensuring that proper resource assignments are established and quality control guidelines are followed. Lead initiatives to reduce equipment downtime, minimize risk of loss and engender greater life expectancy of equipment, are key priorities of this position

  • Support ESA-wide efforts to advance automated Building Information Monitoring (BIM) Systems; collaborating with MTAHQ Office of Enterprise Asset Mgt.(EAM). Using the EAM techniques to support operations, the incumbent will; develop and/or manage multiple operating contracts; plan for maintenance and repair activities; assist in the preparation of internal Program Office proposals for major repairs or replacements; have input into the budget process; and, conduct quality assurance audits

  • Interface with ESA’s Operational Readiness Asset Mgt. team as well as CM regarding the prioritizing and scheduling work orders for both planned and special maintenance projects. Support Construction Management, (CM) as needed in coordinating contractor asset maintenance, facilities maintenance functions for specialized facilities and support efforts to mitigate risk of loss. Attend LIRR meetings and field site walk-throughs and inspections

  • Administer the project management function relative to the execution of operating maintenance contracts from the scope development phase through final inspection and acceptance. Direct interface with all MTACC personnel regarding scope development of contracts and staging maintenance work

  • Support ESA Real Estate matters in Manhattan and Queens to effectuate project needs expeditiously

  • Support ESA street level entrance connectivity needs, (vertical circulation, signage, passenger amenities, etc.)

  • Interact at a high-level with project stakeholders, MTA agencies including Metro-North, Long Island RR, MTAHQ, MTA Capital Construction, NYC Transit, third party building/real estate owners and other governmental agencies

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field

  • 12+ years of facilities operations, with 7 years in a managerial or leadership capacity

  • Knowledge of building maintenance, preventive maintenance procedures, asset management protocols, material costs, contracts, procurement practices and construction procedures

  • Knowledge of engineering methods and techniques

  • Knowledge of terminal and tunnel facilities, including concourse public-facing facilities, vent plants, substations, etc

  • Ability to read and understanding blueprints, drawings, schematics and contract specifications

  • Excellent supervisory skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Excellent written and verbal skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with team building experience

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications as well as project management and asset systems software

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Unifier and Maximo applications

  • Possess a Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) license

  • Knowledge of Civil/Structural, Signals, Power and Communications and other structures that are part of the MTA network
