Position Title Resident Engineer/Inspector

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Resident Engineer/Inspector for employment in the New York, NY office.
AECOM has been contracted by the New York City Department of Design and Construction to design and install underground storage tank replacements at various City-owned sites in Manhattan and the Bronx. The applicant will oversee tank installation related QA/QC inspection, monitoring, and supervision, and associated office tasks including shop drawing management, report preparation, payment requisition preparation, and change order preparation and review.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
On site supervision of subcontractors
Management of quality, safety, and schedule for projects
Running field meetings as needed
Documentation of project progress
Verification that design and specifications are being followed accurately
Shop drawings management
Preparation and maintenance of daily inspection reports and logs
Schedule, labor, and material quantity verification
Payment requisition preparation
Contractor change order request review and preparation of change orders submissions to client
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline
7+ years of construction/field inspection work experience
Experience performing project oversight, document review, inspection, QA/QC, contractor supervision and coordination
Experience installing underground petroleum product storage tanks and associated equipement
Strong analytical, computer, and written and oral communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and project scheduling software
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and adhere to deadlines
Commitment to detail
Valid driver's license
