Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and hardworking Quality Control Engineer for immediate employment in the New York, NY office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for management of construction quality program for multiple contracts within a major infrastructure improvement project

  • Confirms contractor's implementation of its Quality Management Plan

  • Identifies deficiencies and monitors the corrective action

  • Assesses the contractor's construction work plans, checklists and procedures

  • Verifies contractor’s readiness to commence major construction activities

  • Performs oversight of processes, activities and work products of construction Quality Engineering

  • Interfaces with the contractor, construction management and support personnel (i.e. safety, geotechnical, environmental, survey) to expedite resolution of quality related issues

  • Reviews periodic progress reports for consistency and completeness

  • Monitors, reports and expedites resolution of non-conforming construction conditions

  • Reviews plans, specifications and approved submittals and assists inspectors in identifying deviations from quality requirements in the field

  • Performs quarterly Quality Evaluations of assigned contracts

  • Provides quality related training as required

  • Tracks and reports on contractor's audit activities

  • Conducts periodic Quality Workshops with contractor and construction management staff

  • Attends Quality Management and Construction progress meetings as required

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

  • 15+ years of combined experience in design, construction and quality management

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Must have working knowledge of industry practices and hands-on experience in Quality Assurance and Quality Control in the construction industry
