Job Summary

We are looking for a leader for our New York Economics practice who has a proven track record and a broad professional network, combined with the ability to lead business development activities; grow market share, impact and presence; and build AECOM’s brand as a trusted real estate economic strategy firm, differentiating AECOM in the NY Metro Region

The selected candidate will join AECOM as a leader in our New York office with the primary objective of growing and leading our Economics center of expertise while working with internal practices and external clients around the world. Day-to-day tasks will require business development activities, active client engagement, and the direction of project managers to ensure top quality and timely work products which satisfy clients’ needs.

The successful candidate will have expertise in real estate economics, including market and financial feasibility analysis, public-private partnerships and transaction support; economic, housing and community development, including public sector planning documents and strategies; and public finance , including fiscal impact analyses and infrastructure financing strategies. They will also be familiar with sustainable economic strategies and approaches, including the innovative applications of benefit/cost analysis and energy and resource economics.

In addition to considerable experience in leading real estate and economic analysis practices, the candidate must also possess excellent oral and written communication skills and be adept at engaging with clientele and colleagues at the most senior levels of the organization. Substantial team building, project direction, and supervisory capabilities are desired. Candidate should be a highly motivated independent thinker familiar with and able to articulate New York and general real estate and urban development trends.

The successful candidate will provide innovative and detailed top-tier analytical services to all AECOM operating groups in New York. This includes our Design & Consulting service, as well as our market-leading AECOM Construction Services group and AECOM Capital, the investment arm of AECOM, which is structured as a co-general partner fund platform that invests in a variety of real estate and infrastructure assets.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Real Estate, Business or City Planning

  • 10+ years of work experience in real estate economics, economic development, market research, development, and/or consulting in a related field

  • Demonstrated business development and practice leadership skills

  • Experience working closely and collaboratively with many disciplines, including all aspects of the Buildings business, incorporating architecture, urban design and master planning, as well as our urban infrastructure practice areas including transportation, water, environment and energy

  • Demonstrated experience navigating and thriving in a multi-disciplinary work environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12+ years' experience preferred

  • Master's Degree a plus
