Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking an Inspector for immediate employment in New York, NY. The Inspector will be responsible for field supervision of contractors' activities to ensure works are constructed safely and in accordance with contract documents, submitted construction work plans, safe work plans and other relevant documents. This role is primarily based in the field. Shift work and weekend work required. This position is contingent upon client approval.

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • As part of the CM field staff evaluate construction progress, review field engineering reports and assist in remedying open issues

  • Major emphasis will be on monitoring and documenting the contractor’s timely prosecution of work and quality assurance

  • Interface and coordinate with other construction manager, quality control manager and field engineers to maintain and track various logs, reports and field reports

  • Follow up on resolution of non-compliance reports (NCR’s)

  • Identify potential coordination, quality and safety or environmental issues

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum 5+ years related experience with a solid background in civil construction

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel and Outlook)

  • Field engineering/inspection skills required

  • Needs background in means and methods of civil construction techniques

  • Weekend and night shift work possible

  • OSHA 10 hour certification
