Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and hardworking Electrical/Communications Engineer for immediate employment in the New York, NY office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Providing design and construction support of multiple communications and/or electrical projects that involve the following types of systems:

  1. Telephones

  2. Fire/Life Safety

  3. Access Control

  4. Security

  5. Closed Circuit Television

  6. Public Address

  7. Visual Displays

  8. Intercoms

  9. 48v DC Power Plants

  10. Structured cabling

  11. Power Distribution

  12. Lighting

  13. Electrical Service Routing, etc.

  • Identification and specification of system interfaces

  • Developing, checking and evaluating the feasibility/constructability of a design as depicted on engineering drawings and specifications

  • Coordinating with other engineering disciplines such as mechanical, electrical and structural and/or architects

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Communications or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 10+ years of full time engineering experience, including experience in the design and deployment of systems (such as telephones, life safety access control, security, closed circuit television, public address, visual displays, intercoms, 48v dc power plants, structural cabling, etc.)

  • PE Licensed

  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and CADD software related to capital projection construction and design

  • Background should include design experience as well as first-hand knowledge of the implementation and practical construction methods of various communication systems, particularly where integration with other systems is involved and installation of electrical systems.
