Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a Deputy Construction Manager for immediate employment. This position reports to the Force Account Construction Manager (Railroad Force Account) and is responsible to provide management and resolve issues for railroad construction team on all matters related to Amtrak Force Account construction.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides leadership to the CM staff for a variety of tasks including Contractor's adherence to project requirements, evaluating and monitoring progress and field quality assurance, review invoice documentation and tracking and remedying issues

  • Leads the team in monitoring and forecasting contract cost and schedule, including reviewing progress payments

  • Interfaces and coordinates with the rail roads, construction managers, engineering managers, design engineers and owner's representatives

  • Interfaces with Document Control to develop, maintain and track various logs, reports and correspondence

  • Chairs meetings, review minutes and follow-up actions, identifies issues and follows through until resolved

  • Supports the Construction with contract documentation, contractor's contract compliance, community relations, procurement interface and monitoring the contractor's safety, quality, cost and schedule performance

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent

  • 4+ years of progressively responsible project management experience

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access and Outlook).

  • Proficient in CADD (MicroStation)

  • Experience with project scheduling

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous rail/track experience
