Job Summary

The Transportation Division of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Community Construction Liaison for immediate employment in the New York, NY office.

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining an up to date contact list of all relevant community members/residents, elected officials, city agency employees, Business Improvement Districts (BIDS), and field office and contractor staff

  • Distributing and collecting Business, Residential and School Surveys, filled out by the community, providing important information on each business, residential buildings and school’s location

  • Sending out scheduling updates for test pits and major work, including a weekly look-ahead bulletin

  • Sending out water shut off notifications

  • Sending out notifications and updates relating, but not limited to bus stop closures, detours, parking suspensions, night work, important meetings, street closures, equipment storage, water shut downs, etc.

  • Sending out a Monthly Newsletter

  • Responding to emails and phone calls from the community/residents, elected officials, and city agencies - regarding complaints, questions, and concerns that relate to the project

  • Sending out weekly reports to the Office of Community Outreach and Notification (OCON) at the Department of Design and Construction (DDC)

  • Maintaining an issues log for the project, chronicling all relevant complaints, questions and concerns received from the community

  • Attending the monthly Community Board meetings

  • Attending the bi-monthly CCL meeting, this usually takes place at DDC headquarters in Long Island City

  • Receiving event advisories and notifications from DOT, to ensure work does not conflict with planned events

Minimum Requirements

  • High School diploma

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience

  • Excellent Communication Skills, both oral and written including public speaking ability

  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in accessing and using the internet and MS Office tools, especially Word and Excel and communication tools

  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, be responsive to all stakeholders, and maintain consistent attention to details

  • Ability to professionally represent AECOM to various community groups and clients

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates degree in related field

  • Previous experience as a Community Construction Liaison
