Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to join the Transportation Business Line in the Gulf Coast Area.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Complete and oversee numerous traffic studies and analyses for clients in Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and elsewhere; the analyses will include complex technical studies, typically using simulation software

  • Lead a team of professionals through to completion of projects staying on schedule and within budget

  • Any other duties assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience

  • PE and PTOE licensed

  • Experience successfully leading tasks, and projects

  • Familiarity with the strategic pursuit of new work, local clients, proposal and interview preparations

Experience with the following:

  1. Traffic capacity analysis

  2. Corridor Studies

  3. NEPA Traffic analyses for highway projects

  4. Traffic Impact Studies

  5. Operational simulation analysis

  6. Interchange justification/modification reports

  7. Traffic Signal Design

  8. Timing Plans

  9. Geometric design and construction documents

  10. Studies using Synchro, HCS, and the PTV Suite of products

  11. AutoCAD

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with the following:

  • Bike and pedestrian studies and design

  • Roundabout studies using Sidra

  • Familiarity with federal and LA DOTD requirements

  • Public speaking

  • Task and Project Management

  • Traffic analysis and modeling for transit projects

  • Microstation
