Position Title Electrical Engineer

AECOM is seeking a highly talented Electrical Engineer to work in the New Orleans, LA office. This position is contingent upon contract award with an anticipated hire date in August 2017.
The Electrical Engineer will perform work:
Under the direction of the Supervising Discipline Engineer, interacts with other disciplines, project support groups, subcontractors, vendors and client as appropriate on an assigned project. Performs engineering calculations, prepares specifications, performs analyses, witness testing, issues reports and maintains related data. Primary focus is on electrical systems, and involves the development of electrical drawings and documentation for the energy, oil, gas and petrochemical industry projects.
Under minimal direction, completes engineering assignments of advanced complexity.
Comprehensive understanding of Electrical discipline and basic understanding of other disciplines. Effectively maintains liaison with electrical engineering and design staff.
Fully versed with the preparation and execution of project scope in the electrical discipline.
Plans and schedules engineering efforts associated with assigned project.
Support the development of electrical project engineering budgets.
Advises the Supervising Discipline Engineer about status of assignment(s) with respect to schedule, budgets, delays, and adverse problems.
Keeps proper engineering files and records.
Interface with electrical staff, other disciplines, vendors, contractors and clients.
Participates in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
Work with project Lead Designer to provide guidance to project design personnel to effectively produce detailed electrical design drawings, including electrical equipment physical layouts, electrical installation details, electrical equipment layout, electrical cable design, motor schematics.
Perform design quality review to ensure quality and consistency of drawings is being met per the Quality Procedures.
Participate in on site installation and start up and commissioning activities, as required, to assist field personnel in systems checkout and commissioning, including coordinating with the control system suppliers and coordinating resolution to problems with other disciplines.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from a 4-year accredited university.
6 years of electrical engineering experience, involving the engineering and design of complex electrical systems for industrial plant design projects.
Experience developing and checking one-line diagrams, schematic and wiring diagrams.
Experience with the generation of specifications for electrical transformers, cables, bus work and other electrical/substation equipment
Previous experience conducting power system studies utilitzing software programs such as ETAP, SKM or EasyPower
Must possess or be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)
Previous experience working on Oil & Gas, Power and/or Petrochemical industry projects
Registered Professional Engineer
Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
