Position Title Civil Pipeline Engineer

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly motivated Civil Pipeline Engineer for employment in our New Orleans, LA office.
Position Description or Typical Responsibilities:
This position involves the engineering required for project, including FERC and non-regulated pipelines, compressor stations, an pump stations and is contingent upon contract award with an anticipated hire date in August 2017.
Level Specific Responsibilities:
Production the engineering required for projects, including FERC and non-regulated pipelines, compressor stations, and pump stations.
Creation and maintenance of cost estimates and schedules for assigned portions of pipeline projects.
Management of junior and staff level engineering and design professionals.
Client and sub-contractor interface during project life cycles including survey and geotechnical sub-contractors.
Creation of hydro-test plans, pipeline integrity test plans, equipment specification and selection.
Assist in pipeline route selection including: Route Analysis, Crossing Selection and Design, Alignment Sheets Creation, HDD Calculations and Design, Class Location Documentation, and Hydraulic Analysis and Modeling.
Pipe Specification development, including: Evaluation to DOT 49 CFR 192 and 195 and appropriate ANSI standards, pipe sizing, weld specifications, hydraulic analysis, and coating specification.
Specification of valves and equipment, tank and vessel specification and design, Pig Launcher/Receiver design and specification, pump, compressor, and skid mounted systems specification, and vendor qualification.
Creation of PFD - P&IDs for facilities or processes.
Coordination and management of design documentation and procurement processes.
Constructability review and management, including understanding construction requirements for HDD and other crossing types, skid placement, and required building of structures.
Design of pump and compressor stations.
Fully versed in the collection and/or evaluation of data and information regarding technical and economic factors relating to a specific subject within a discipline.
Fully understands the use of requisitions and the role of materials management.
Collects data on manpower, man-hour, and labor cost requirements to aid in evaluating the budget.
Leads estimating tasks and performs material take offs for a specific discipline.
Advanced knowledge of discipline's material costs, equipment, and materials lists.
Understands cost analysis and forecasting.
Fully understands the planning and scheduling of engineering tasks.
Understands project change order process and identifies potential changes.
Understands the work sequence, general content, and the methods used to generate specifications for the purchase of material, equipment, systems, services, or construction within a pipeline discipline.
Can assist in the integration all project functional requirements into a complete project plan.
Maintains positive working relationships with peer leaders.
- Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree or higher, in Civil Engineering from a four year accredited college or university.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in engineering/design of onshore transmission oil & gas pipeline and meter station design for construction projects in the midstream onshore pipeline industry
Must have working knowledge of codes and standards for gas and/or liquid pipelines including ASME 31.3 and 31.8, CFR 49, Part 192 and 195
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
Must possess or be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)
Due to the nature of the work, candidate must be a US Citizen
Must be able to obtain Personal Identification Verification (PIV) which complies with Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD‐12.)
12 years experience in engineering/design of onshore transmission oil & gas pipeline and meter station design for construction projects in the midstream onshore pipeline industry
Professional Engineer License preferred
Experience in industrial, power, petrochemical plant and cross-country, large-diameter pipeline projects is preferred.
Previous experience with civil site work, cut & fill, and drainage.
Previous experience as a lead on projects.
