Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented senior electrical engineer for immediate employment for the NASA Ames Research Center Field Office in Moffett Field, CA. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Manage and mentor direct reports

  • Manage complex electrical projects

  • Provide design services and review of work by others

  • Provides medium and high voltage design services

  • Write and edits electrical specifications

  • Provides input to cost estimates for assigned projects

  • Provides Design Build engineering design services

  • Provides guidance on code and electrical issues for the client

  • Performs project management duties on assigned projects

  • Oversee the project management of staff within the electrical group

  • Monitor cost and schedule on assisted projects

  • Prepare Statements of Work

  • Prepare Project Proposals

  • Orchestrate field investigations

  • Work with project controls tools to manage projects and issue reports on project status

  • Support construction administration services such as the review of RFIs and submittals

  • Performs field inspections to verify compliance with plans, specifications and codes for electrical work

  • Prepares and presents project presentations to the client and stakeholders

  • Provides collaborative and clear communication with the client and team

  • Able to multi task and perform in a fast paced environment

Minimum Requirements

  • Registered PE in California preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 10+ years of experience in building/industrial engineering

  • Working knowledge of common building engineering codes and standards such as the NEC, NFPA, IESNA, IEEE and NETA

  • Understanding of electrical power requirements for HVAC systems and interface with utilities

  • Understanding of electrical power controls and ladder logic

  • Ability to review electrical drawings, details and specifications as part of a large multi-discipline construction document package

  • Ability to coordinate effectively with Architects, Mechanical Engineers and Structural Engineers on large multi-discipline projects

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and through the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint

  • Ability to perform field investigations and work near energized electrical equipment from 50V to 115kV

  • Ability to climb ladders and work at elevated locations such as roof tops as well as the ability to work in confined spaces

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years experience

  • Knowledge of medium and high voltage substation layout and controls a plus

  • Working knowledge of SKM Systems Analysis Software for fault, coordination and arc flash studies a plus

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD/Revit a plus

  • MSEE with emphasis on electric power systems a plus

  • Working knowledge of AutoCad/Revit/BIM a plus
