About the Business Line
We address the complete spectrum of energy challenges, including clean and renewable energy, energy efficiency and carbon management, hydropower and dams, thermal, geothermal and wind power generation, and transmission and distribution.
The AECOM Morrisville Geotech/Solid Waste Group is seeking an experienced Civil Designer to support design of various disposal facilities, earthen dams, and other geotechnical and solid waste related projects. The Civil Designer will be responsible for designing and preparing stormwater and grading plans for pond closure, solid waste disposal facility design; construction quantity takeoffs for cost estimating; supporting calculations for earthwork, stormwater management design, and solid waste design.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assists in report preparation, site reconnaissance, and communications with the AECOM project team.
Reviews regulations and standards necessary to carry out project design and permitting work
Analyze reports, maps, drawings, tests, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design projects
Incorporates schedules, budgets and project criteria into Civil design and layouts
Assists design team in preparation of reports, plans, and other submittals
Conduct occasional site reconnaissance to examine field conditions, drainage and erosion control needs, as built conditions, etc.
Work closely with the project team, including civil, geotechnical, mechanical engineers, surveyors to provide value to each project
Associate's degree in civil engineering technology or related engineering field
2+ years of experience in design for civil or site development, including stormwater and sedimentation control analyses, development of grading plans and construction quantities projects including dams, surface impoundments, landfills, final covers, roadways, and other industrial and commercial development
Experience with AutoCAD and/or Civil3D designs for civil engineering related projects including grading and stormwater
Strong AutoCAD and Civil3D experience
Knowledge of applicable health and safety requirements and environmental concerns
Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
Valid driver's license
Landfill design and stormwater, erosion and sediment control design experience
