AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Regional Program Manager for immediate employment at a client site in the LA Metro area. The Regional Program Manager participates in project design reviews, contract bid and award process, implements standardized common project management practices, and monitors the activities of on-site project teams, construction progress, and contractor performance, coordinates site management activity with program controls, risk, and finance and procurement. The Regional Program Manager oversees design development and construction for two to three sites (8-12 projects) simultaneously.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provide leadership and manage day to day activities over projects to meet quality, schedule, milestone, and budget commitments
Oversee and support the on-site teams in project performances, project management, AE services and client initiatives on assigned specific campuses
Manage project expectations, scope, risk and changes; provide issue identifications and resolution with program managers, senior stakeholders; oversee development of work plans at the required level of detail which indicates the key dependencies, resources, and project timeframes
Accountable to Program senior management and client for continual tracking and analysis of project performance against the project management plan(s) to ensure successful delivery and execution; ensuring that the goals and objectives of the project are understood and agreed with sponsors; and for the continual assessment of resource displacement and reassignment based on work plan schedule(s)
Reviews all project deliverables to ensure they meet or exceed performance standards and service level agreements
Support and interface with program management core teams including procurement, construction contracts, professional services contracts, program controls and accounting on assigned specific campuses
Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, Construction Management or a closely related field
15+ years of experience managing capital projects that included the overall design, contract administration, cost estimating, and scheduling activities
7+ years of experience in educational facility construction
A valid Certificate of Registration as an Architect by the California Architectural Board or Professional Engineer by the California State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors
Experience with Division of the State Architect (DSA) and California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) design and construction processes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required as this role will include interaction with clients and the general public
Strong work ethic with the "team player" mindset
Actively seeks ways in which to act as a role model, guide others within the organization
Logically breaks down problems and looks for solutions
Knowledge of all parts of the project life cycle, to include master planning, design, alternative procurement delivery methods, construction and closeout
Experience with using a web based project management system such as Proliance
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required
Experience working on large bond school programs
Experience utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM)
A valid Construction Manager (CCM) credential by the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI)
