Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a Mechanical Engineering Department Supervisor for immediate employment in Moffett Field, CA. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform as project engineer of record and project manager on projects with major mechanical emphasis, to include responsibility for successful on-time delivery of financially profitable, high quality projects

  • Communicate directly with client to develop project work statements and address project issues; work with client to achieve desired project outcomes and provide excellent client service

  • Prepare and review analysis findings/reports, construction drawings and specifications, construction cost estimates, and construction schedules

  • Prepare work scope and fee proposals with client and team members

  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide integrated and coordinated engineering solutions for clients

  • Manage a team of technical mechanical engineering staff (4-6 people), develop new and implement existing standards and processes to streamline work production

  • Perform QA/QC checks of mechanical discipline deliverables

  • Report to Site Director on project and team performance at regular intervals

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

  • 10+ years of related industry experience

  • California PE license (Mechanical discipline)

  • Working knowledge of CAD delivery software, including AutoCAD and Revit

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical concepts such as stress analysis, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics

  • Working knowledge of California Building Codes, ASME Process Piping Code and process piping design

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and MS Project

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of related industry experience

  • Experience in process piping design and analysis

  • Proficiency with or working knowledge of SolidWorks, Autodesk Plant 3D, Navisworks platforms

  • Proficiency with or working knowledge of Caesar II pipe stress analysis software

  • Fire protection systems design experience, PE license in Fire Protection

  • Experience with the design, inspection, and certification of ASME Pressure Vessels, working knowledge of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII
