We provide professional services in areas such as aviation, transit, freight rail, highways and bridges, planning, and ports and marine. Our global network of top-tier specialists delivers comprehensive services over the full life cycle of a project to benefit clients in government and private industries.
AECOM’s specialty Transit & Rail practice is seeking a Transit Modeler for rail and transit projects who will serve both transit and freight-rail clients (heavy rail and LRT). Position will be based in AECOM’s Mississauga Ontario office.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Development of transit/rail models for transit and freight rail clients
Running and interpretation of model results
Working with client and technical staff on vehicle/track dynamics
Modelling rail networks, train movements and train control systems
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent
2+ years of relevant professional experience
Experience in software programming
Experience working on transit or freight rail projects or for an operator
Experience with modelling / simulations
Experience with train / track dynamics or vehicle characteristics
Must have experience dealing with both clients and technical staff
Possess a technical foundation in civil/railway/transit engineering or operations
Must possess a valid driver's license
Rail experience (transit, freight or both)
Experience working on projects for Metrolinx, CN, CP, TTC, VIA Rail, AMT, OC Transpo, or similar
Experience working on projects for Transit/Commuter, Freight and or Passenger
US or overseas experience is considered acceptable / equivalent to Canadian experience, but local (Toronto) experience is ideal
