Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Air Quality Compliance Specialist for immediate employment for the Mississauga or Hamilton office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Air quality dispersion modelling using AERMOD, CALPUFF, Reg. 346, Screen3 and CALROADS (CAL3QHCR)

  • Estimating air emissions for greenhouse gases, criteria air contaminants and other contaminants from stationary and mobile sources using emission factors, on-site source data and MOVES emission modeling system

  • Air quality modelling and impact assessment for highways and railway projects

  • Site work to establish air emission inventories from on-site equipment and processes

  • Understanding of various industrial and chemical sector processes

  • Knowledge of air pollution control systems and concepts

  • Preparation of technical documents and submissions to regulatory agencies

  • Work with internal teams and external clients

  • Mentoring and coaching junior staff

  • Business development – including developing client relationships, networking, and delivering presentations

  • Work in accordance with AECOM's Safety, Health & Environment and Quality Management System policies

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering

  • P.Eng. or eligibility for P.Eng. licensure

  • 10+ years professional air quality compliance experience

  • Experience developing emissions inventories

  • Experience with road and rail air quality and GHG emission calculations and dispersion modelling

  • Solid experience with industry software, including AERMOD, MOVES and CALROADS

  • Fluent knowledge of Ontario's provincial environmental guidelines

  • Experience with preparing air quality/GHG emission impact studies as input to Environmental Assessments

  • Experience in technical presentations to public and regulatory stakeholders

  • Excellent technical report writing skills

  • Communication skills and ability to collaborate with others

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree preferred

  • Experience with monitoring field programs and ambient monitoring surveys

  • Understanding of project management and finance fundamentals
