Job Summary

The Buildings and Places Division of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, talented Interior Designer for immediate employment in the Minneapolis, MN office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Interior Design.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for conceptualizing and designing all aspects of Interior design projects including design presentations, either individually or as part of a team

  • Required to coordinate and execute all phases of an interior design projects including documentation and follow through on construction administration stages

  • Excellent space planning abilities and experience as a generalist with a variety of project types.

  • Expected to interface directly with clients and foster the client relationship and be part of the team that delivers Interiors/interior architecture work to clients

  • Work closely with Project Managers as discipline lead for Interiors to meet project goals and financial performance

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in interior architecture/interior design

  • 5+ years of experience in Interior design/interior architecture including project documentation

  • Degree from accredited university with focus on interior architectural or interior design studies

  • Working knowledge of project design and construction documentation and interior construction materials; intermediate knowledge of CADD and Revit and word processing tools

  • Self-directed with ability to work on multiple, fast-paced projects

  • Spreadsheet skills required. Experience with Revit and CADD utilized to create construction documents

  • Experience with furniture and furnishings

  • Candidate should possess excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Interior Design status or NCARB registration

  • Sustainable Design / LEED AP accreditation

  • Commercial corporate project experience including knowledge of BOMA standards is preferred

  • Certification and professional associations are encouraged

  • Basic knowledge of 3D computer modeling and graphic design
