Job Summary

Purpose and Scope:

Provides general HR field support at designated company facilities for various Human Resource functions such as recruiting, benefits, employee relations, training and other HR related functions. Coordinates local Human Resource functions and acts as liaison between the assigned area and the HR Service Center.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Employee Information – Submit or enter required information into HRMS as directed. Process new employee transactions, compensation actions and status changes in an accurate and timely manner. Ensure that new employees have completed all appropriate on-boarding paperwork.

  2. Employee Engagement/Performance Management – Participate in employee activity committees as requested, plan teambuilding events as directed, provide data for employee recognition efforts, and disseminate employee communications.

  3. Employee Relations – Have familiarity with policies and laws, answer employees HR related questions, counsel employees on HR related issues, participate in employee issue resolution as directed, and facilitate exit process for departing employees.

  4. Training – Conduct new employee orientation as directed, track required annual training, facilitate annual training completion, attend weekly HR calls, participate in HR meetings, and participate in preparing training curriculum.

  5. Compensation/Benefits – Assist with open enrollment meetings and disseminate information as directed.

  6. Reporting – Provide statistical reporting as directed.

  7. Compliance – Maintain state, federal, and local posting requirements, assist in compiling data for audits, submit worker’s compensation claims in a timely manner, and comply with safety requirements.

  8. Business Development/Proposal Support – Provide input as directed.

  9. Administration – Submit complete education assistance and check requests, monitor drug screening results and report any issues, verify employment and education information as directed.

  10. Recruiting – May be required to provide recruiting support by posting requirements, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, interviewing candidates, checking references, maintaining system requirements and making offers after approved.

  11. Other – Participate in company wide initiatives, conduct research, and other support as directed.

Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, possess and utilize planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.

Other Responsibilities:

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Human Resources, or equivalent, and at least 3 years of job-related experience or equivalent.

  • Good written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.

  • High ethical integrity and ability to keep information confidential is required.

  • Position may require travel.
