Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Water Business Unit Leader for employment Anywhere in South America.

The Water Business Unit Leader is the business development and operational leader responsible for the business unit performance within the area and delivery of the financial plan

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as the growth engine for the Business Unit (BU) in the Area

  • Provides leadership of market segment staff within the area in pursuits and client development

  • Develops teaming partnerships on major pursuits

  • Provides geopolitical and civic leadership/presence for the Business Unit within the Area

  • Develop a staff mix to execute current and future projects

  • Serves as “Face” of AECOM in the area in support of business unit sales and top-line growth

  • Provides day-to-day leadership regarding project delivery for the Business unit

  • Review and approve submittal of EACs for projects within the BU

  • Collaborates with other Business Unit Managers to support sales and top-line growth

  • Ensure a strong focus on clients, a commitment to excellence and innovation, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment, and strong engagement of employees

  • Regular communication with staff to ensure that all initiatives are delivered and executed in a positive and effective manner

  • Provides input and executes the strategic plan

  • Coordinate with Site Area leader regarding accuracy of Sales Force data, hiring of staff, health and safety, optimal use of staff that work across business lines

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field

  • 15+ years' experience in program management, planning, design, business development and department management with 5+ years in a managerial role

  • General business/administrative experience

  • Working knowledge of diverse client base, including federal, state, municipal and private sectors

  • Excellent leadership and mentoring skills

  • Positive attitude and a propensity for collaborative teamwork

  • Ability to solve complex people management problems/issues

  • Ability to establish and maintain client relationships

  • Effective communication skills (internal and external)

  • Ability to generate new business, create new business development strategies, and implement them efficiently and effectively

  • Ability to think proactively and manage very complex situations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Member of a professional or technical society
