Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Operations Manager for employment in the Mexico City office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the PM/CM delivery team as part of the Country Lead Team working closely with other stakeholders such as the JV Partners, the Technical Support Director and the Superintendent

  • Operational delivery of all Build Projects, Build Programmed, and Dealer Projects

  • Managing a team of Project and Contract Managers to deliver to programmed deadlines within a set of clear performance indicators

  • Attend monthly safety meetings, ensure messages conveyed to the operational staff, manage the safety messages into the projects and audit to give confidence that the safety is being implemented in accordance with client and SIA – AECOM processes and procedures

  • Feedback safety learning’s into the Safety Manager to provide continuous learning for the whole team Provide safety training for operational staff and look for opportunities to give training to the supply chain

  • Manage a team of Build Project Managers to deliver projects to time, cost and quality standards

  • Ensure that the PM/CMs are attending to all the stages of project development, delivery and close out, for example, scoping visits; design reviews; post tender meetings; cost plan reviews; pre-start meetings; regular site progress meetings; high quality handovers; financial close meetings; and safety audits

  • Develop systems aligned closely with Build and Maintenance to ensure compliance while giving the solutions sufficient flexibility to meet the needs of the dealer business

  • Ensuring that annual performance plans are agreed with all operational staff; regular reviews and communication to ensure that work is delivered within the agreed values of the SIA-AECOM and the client

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DELIVERABLES

  • Manage the delivery of projects to the programmed timelines

  • Manage the delivery of projects within agreed budgets

  • Where appropriate, deliver savings on build projects

  • Manage the delivery of dealer projects and programmed to agreed time and cost

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil Engineering or other related field required

  • 10+ years’ experience perform field

  • Confident and capable individual with strong client focus

  • Recognized construction or construction management qualification (or similar experience)

  • Experienced in managing a diverse operational team

  • Strong track record in delivering projects in a fast moving and challenging environment

  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

  • Strong skills in written and spoken communication

  • Organization and time management skill

  • Flexibility to work on a diversity of technical projects, a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative

  • Fluent Spanish and English

  • A leader in compliance and ethics

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years Petrochem knowledge/experience
