About the Business Line
We address the complete spectrum of energy challenges, including clean and renewable energy, energy efficiency and carbon management, hydropower and dams, thermal, geothermal and wind power generation, and transmission and distribution.
The key purpose of this position is to provide electrical engineering support to the delivery of power generation (wind and solar) and transmission and distribution projects in Australia and overseas. Typical activities include; detailed design, design review, construction inspections, interface management, network and market integration and commissioning coordination.
More broadly, responsibilities include but are not restricted to the following:
Undertaking a variety of roles including Design Engineer (detailed design), Owner’s Engineer (Electrical) and Design Manager
Support to emerging technologies such as energy storage projects
Accepting personal responsibility for the performance of assigned tasks, to be proactive and display initiative
Working proactively as part of the broader Powerteam on a variety of utility network and rail projects including providing support to colleagues in other AECOM offices across the region and overseas
To be successful in this role you will be degree qualified in Electrical Engineering with proven experience across the renewables space and/or electrical utility industry in the areas of design and engineering. Familiarity with Secondary System design and Power systems software such as Power Factory and PSSE would be highly regarded.
Your ability to demonstrate commercial acumen and to develop to assist a client base, coupled with your coaching and mentoring of junior staff will be key selection criteria.
