Job Summary

An exciting, permanent role has become available in our Melbourne office for a Junior Lawyer with 2/3 years PAE to join our national legal team. Reporting to the Senior Corporate Counsel you will be a critical part of the AECOM legal team. The role will be focused on providing legal advice within a large multinational engineering consultancy firm providing services across a range of key markets including transportation, facilities, environment, energy, oil & gas, water, high-rise buildings and government. The role will involve negotiating major transactions, managing disputes, providing ad-hoc legal advice and handling general corporate matters.

AECOM works on some of the largest and most significant infrastructure projects around Australia and globally. As a lawyer in the AECOM legal team, you will assume an integral role in AECOM delivering these major projects and achieving its corporate goals.

You will be working with driven professionals across various end-markets who are industry leaders and passionate about being a part of a company that is dedicated to delivering a better world.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing request for tender and expression of interest documentation

  • Negotiating with external clients, business partners and vendors regarding contractual, legal and commercial issues

  • Reviewing contract conditions and participating in the preparation of commercial strategies for key proposals

  • Managing claims and disputes

  • Liaising with insurers

  • Advising on corporate matters

  • Ensuring compliance with applicable laws, policies and procedures

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 2/3 years of post-admission experience

  • Previous experience in a top tier law firm and/or in-house experience in a multinational consultant or contractor will be viewed favourably

  • Demonstrated track record of adding value to a diverse and dynamic business

  • Collaborative team player

  • Excellent communicator

  • Tertiary qualification in law

  • Admission to practice in Victoria (or eligibility for such)
