Job Summary

The Associate Director of Landscape Architecture will be responsible for developing the landscape architectural practice in Victoria, with shared responsibility for developing the practice across Australia and New Zealand. You will be Join a peer group of Urban Design and Planning directors to lead the Design and Planning group in Victoria and South Australia.

Specific tasks and responsibilities will be developed to ensure the successful candidate’s skills and experience is best employed. Additional responsibilities will include but are not restricted to the following:

  • Developing a strong and resilient Landscape Architectural practice/ business based on the existing team.

  • Leading the development of a clear and succinct purpose for the Landscape Architectural practice/ business that builds upon the expertise, project base and culture of the existing team.

  • Actively promoting the Landscape Architectural practice of AECOM through his/ her existing local network.

  • Developing a strong client base focused on developing relationships in both public and private sectors.

  • Engaging with the Landscape Architectural team and practice leaders across Australia and New Zealand and eventually the AECOM Global Landscape Architectural practice.

  • Assisting the Design and Planning (D+P) VicSA Practice and Team Leads to develop business development strategies, key practice focus areas and general operational matters in the Victorian and South Australian area.

  • Being responsible for general Clients and Consultants relationships in accordance with the Landscape Architectural key practice strategies.

  • Supporting the Design and Planning (D+P) VicSA Practice and Team Leads in the identification and recruitment of staff in the Victorian and eventually the South Australian team.

  • Providing project operational support to the Practice Leader, Buildings and Places (B+P) operations and leadership in Victoria and eventually in South Australia.

  • Providing overview to ensure that the Landscape Architectural team incudes staff with adequate proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office and Autocad. Experience in the use and leadership of projects based on 3D modelling (Rhino/Sketch Up), Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) presentation would be considered an advantage.

Minimum Requirements

To be successful in the role you will need a deep understanding of the local industry and market conditions, influencers and trends. . In addition, your strong leadership skills coupled with your ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects, team members and stakeholders will be key selection criteria.

Preferred Qualifications Appropriate tertiary qualification.
