Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Quality Control / Quality Assurance, Safety Environmental Facilities (QCSE) Manager.

The QCSE Manager will ensure the quality control program is executed as appropriate, the safety and environmental requirements are upheld in accordance with AECOM, OSHA, and Customer requirements within the DIESEL Program at Maryland and Virginia locations. Also manages the QCSE Analyst.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Create and maintain work instructions, forms, and site specific Environmental Health Safety (EHS) program procedures

  • Coordinate and administer all employee EHS training, as required

  • Conduct regular EHS inspections site-wide on all shifts

  • Lead and facilitate all monthly Safety Committee on-site meetings

  • Maintain EHS metrics; conduct/facilitate safety committee meetings; ensure annual OSHA requirements are met; facilitate/conduct hazard communication and awareness and other related training, etc.

  • Attend corporate monthly EHS meetings

  • Oversee Safety Data Sheet maintenance requirements

  • Oversee the reporting, investigation and documentation of all accidents and near miss incidents, following up with supervisors and employees on those incidents and determining and managing corrective actions

  • Encourage all employees to follow EHS expectations and behavior, communicate employer EHS policies and goals to employees, respond to and/or review employee EHS concerns

  • Work alongside USG facility leads and EHS officers to ensure that all on-site facility job specific training is being conducted, documented, and tracked

  • Manage all Workers’ Compensation actions including treatment, interviews & investigation, and documentation

  • Manage hazardous waste within the facility: assist US Government EHS officer with hazardous waste pick-ups, profile waste, and submit weekly inspections

  • Perform various safety inspections and audits

  • On-call at all times to respond to EHS related issues and must be available to work extended hours when required

  • Document and enforce company policy

  • Respond quickly to inquiries and follow ups, as needed

  • Become certified as a Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) within six months of hire date


Minimum Requirements

  • Active Top Secret SCI Clearance with Polygraph - TS/SCI

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 5 years of related experience OR Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health, environmental science, life sciences, engineering, or other related field, and 3 years of related experience

  • Ability to work autonomously using considerable independent judgment, direction, and initiative in carrying out daily operations

  • Perform job risk analyses and create and execute quality control initiatives with business area leads (Managers) and the Program Management Office (PMO)

  • Conduct post incident investigations to include detailed reporting and verbally communicating with the PMO and other pertinent parties until all actions have been closed.

  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a team based environment and interact professionally with co-workers and vendors, understands internal customers, and strive to maintain good relationships with others.

  • Must have knowledge or demonstrate ability to learn EHS regulations, issues, procedure, processes, reporting requirements, and other compliance requirements with federal, state, and local laws governing the environment,

  • Capable of conducting regular quality, safety, and environmental inspections of all work areas and provides written reports detailing corrections and issues addressed

  • Responsible for evaluating chemical, mechanical, thermal, electrical, physical, and ergonomic hazards and providing recommendations to reduce or eliminate safety hazards

  • Ability to effectively use MS Office Suite and customer based database(s)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Intel Community experience preferred

  • Experience working with large, complex, multi-disciplined programs

  • Customer Service focused with previous experience in EHS preferred
