Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, high functioning, highly talented Executive Vice-President to lead our operation in the Western Canada/Toronto Metro. In this role, you will provide leadership to the metro through effective communication of our strategy and objectives. The operational leader is responsible for the business performance of all units within the Metro and delivery of the financial plan. The successful executive will also be responsible for development and execution of the strategic plan, development and guidance of top-line growth opportunities that cross multiple business lines, geopolitical and civic leadership/presence within the Metro, setting the “tone at the top” for collaboration and team building, ensuring a strong focus on clients, a commitment to excellence and innovation, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment, and strong engagement of employees.

Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for Metro P&L including revenue generation, project margin achievement, DSO, G&A, project delivery, client satisfaction, staff utilization, safety, claims resolution and quality

  • Develops Metro growth and business development strategy in collaboration with Business Line Leaders, Metro Business Line Leaders, Market Sector Leaders and Account Managers

  • Implements strategic plans and objectives of the organization as applicable to the Metro

  • Ensures the success and growth of the Metro and collaboration with other Metros

  • Provides geopolitical, industry and civic leadership within the Metro

  • Manages client coordination and cross-selling efforts across all AECOM business lines in coordination with Business Line Executives and Area Managers

  • Provides guidance and direction to Area/Metro Managers to ensure operational, technical and project delivery excellence

  • Forecasts Metro business performance ensures accurate budgeting, revenue recognition and preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual outlook

  • A member of the Operating Group Senior Leadership Team for DCS Americas, focused on optimizing the overall performance of the operating group

  • Responsible for managing and developing employees in accordance with AECOM core values and behaviors, including managing talent and proactively supporting the Performance + Rewards and succession planning processes

  • Reinforces collaboration and team building, ensures client focus, demonstrates commitment to excellence and innovation, and motivates others to ensure positive morale and engagement

  • Ensures that AECOM programs such as Sustainability, Corporate Social Responsibility, and Ethics & Compliance are an overriding part of the organizational culture

  • Responsible for the health, safety, and well-being of employees and the projects and programs managed

  • Champions the AECOM Safety For Life Program and ensures zero incident techniques are utilized and measured

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 20+ years' experience

  • Record of successful senior level management/leadership experience driving operations and supporting business line-specific sales and top-line growth through opportunity development and capture (execution of business line strategy) in a similar environment, preferred

  • Experience running a multi-million dollar P&L

  • Strong people manager

  • Professional registered as a P.Eng. in one of our provinces

  • Outstanding communication and engagement skills

  • Ability to travel throughout North America as required for leadership, staff and project meetings

  • Collegial, with the ability to develop effective relationships with the local leaders and North America Team

  • Strong business skills and judgement gained through experience running a large P&L

  • Strong business acumen and financial literacy

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in a Technical Discipline preferred
