Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

Job Summary

The Environmental Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Scientist / Engineer-in-Training for an entry level position for immediate employment in the Markham or Guelph, Ontario offices for the Remediation Team. The appropriately qualified applicant should be able to demonstrate knowledge in the area of environmental services for contaminated sites (Phase I/II/III ESAs and remediation) and preferred site supervision in the industrial and manufacturing sector.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Reporting on all aspects of environmental work (remediation, monitoring, testing etc.) for contaminated sites

  • Conducting field work and overseeing sub-contractors

  • Reviewing data for accuracy and completeness

  • Meeting with project team regularly to report on status of work, issues etc.

  • Technical writing

  • Developing and implementing safety plans for each task/project

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science or Geology, or environmental or geological engineering

  • 2+ years of professional experience

  • Good verbal and written English communications skills are critical

  • Valid G License and vehicle

  • Valid First Aid and CPR

  • Position requires travelling to the project sites across Ontario

Preferred Qualifications

  • Co-op or previous experience in environmental consulting

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing work environment

  • Good interpersonal skills
