We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented Electrical Site Contract Administrator for immediate employment in Markham, ON. The successful candidate shall provide professional construction services on a large scale waste water long term expansion program in Hamilton area. The Site Inspector will act as client’s representative in the field interacting with client (end user), contractor and other external parties.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Management on a municipal construction project for quality control and adherence with applicable provincial standards (Ontario Electrical Safety Code, Ontario Building Code), application national standards (National Electrical Code), engineering design and technical specifications

  • Review of shop drawings for compliance with construction contract documents

  • Documentation of construction site activities (daily diaries, photo logs, survey checks, field progress reports)

  • Site inspections to confirm that the contractor's work is in general conformance with drawings and specifications and is progressing on schedule

  • Clarification of drawings and specifications

  • Provide problem resolution/field solutions with respect to unforeseen construction issues

  • Assist with issuance of field instructions, change orders and other construction administrative documentation

  • Complete periodic field survey checks to ensure the contractor is installing infrastructure in the correct location

  • Preparing construction progress reports

  • Chairing construction meetings and preparing minutes

  • Review of contractor invoices and preparation of monthly progress claims for submission to project owner

  • Review of contractor pricing associated with change orders

  • Review of red line mark-up drawings provided by the contractor

  • Assist with preparation and review of project record drawings

  • Witnessing and documenting performance verification tests and monitoring contractor commissioning activities

  • Assist with preparation of contract documents and specifications

  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act on construction sites with authority to issue stop work orders

  • Liaise with Client for regulatory inspectors with respect to construction activities

  • Implements and follows project and company safety procedures

Minimum Requirements

  • Engineering diploma or higher

  • 10+ years of related experience in water /waste water biased towards electrical site construction inspection and contract administration

  • Proven team management skills with capability to work with a wide variety of individuals, and have the skills and abilities necessary to lead engineers, designers, and technical and support staff

  • Excellent communication skills including verbal and written

  • Knowledge in document control, record keeping and construction administration

  • Valid driver’s license and must have transportation to and from the project site
