Position Title Director, PCC Leader for North of England

AECOM is recruiting for a Director to lead our team in the North of England providing cost, project and programme management and other related consultancy services, know internally as Programme, Cost, Consulting (PCC).
You will lead the PCC practice line across the region, ideally based in Manchester whilst also managing the PCC teams in our Liverpool and Leeds offices, totalling some 70 staff.
We have many high profile clients in the North, and have worked on some of the region’s largest and most prestigious projects. You will continue to build and develop on these successes and to drive further growth.
Geographically you will report to the North Business Unit Leader, who manages all of AECOM’s built environment services and staff across the three offices. You will also liaise closely with our PCC practice line lead for the UK&I regional business.
Provide effective leadership and management to the 60+ PCC technical staff across three offices
Provide effective line management to the senior PCC team members across the three offices.
You'll be a key member of the regional Business Unit leadership team contributing to the overall and operational management of AECOM across the North of England region.
Act as a key member of the national PCC leadership team
Manage the PCC team to meet financial income, utilisation and profit targets.
Direct client liaison, leading as commission / account manager on large and/or complex projects
Oversee the overall PCC team with their duties, driving technical excellence in all that we do
Play a key role in marketing and promoting AECOM externally.
Lead the business development activity for PCC in the North.
Manage / lead the production and submission of bids for new work
Collaborate with our PCC Infrastructure lead to develop an integrated PCC team working across the region
Collaborate with the wider PCC business supporting national and international bids, sharing knowledge and resource.
liaise with the non-PCC parts of the AECOM business to develop and deliver an integrated multi-disciplinary offer.
Provide oversight / strategic guidance / audit & review, to a portfolio of projects.
Ensure commissions are managed to the AECOM quality standards and are completed efficiently and on time
Build strong relationships with clients and members of the wider AECOM business
Expected candidate attributes:
Expertise and experience across a range of building and property sectors including commercial, residential, education and leisure.
Passion for first class service delivery, implementing best practice and continuous improvement
Proven business development acumen and ability to seek out and secure new clients and work
Successful client account management securing repeat business.
Excellent knowledge of the property and construction industry and clients in the North of England, especially the markets in Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds with an extensive business network in those markets
Experience at a leadership level in a comparable consultancy business
Extensive experience acting in a leadership capacity and track record of managing teams
Excellent communication and organisational skills and highly motivated
Proven commercial acumen and track record of running a successful and profitable business.

PCC North older notable projects
• Be the primary interface with AECOM clients (New and Existing)
• Provide leadership within project and commercial management business and provide leadership and mentoring to the team
• Ensure all staff members within the team have current and relevant training
• Manage the delivery of team outputs, in accordance with agreed time-scales and quality standards
• Co-ordination and sign off on all management information produced by the teams prior to issue
• To ‘win’ clients through strong business development skills
• Management of tender documents, appraisals and negotiations
Ideally Degree Qualified: Quantity/ Building Surveying, Project Management or similar qualification and hold Chartered status.
Preferably significant experience across the North of England.
Experience and training within a PQS business.
Proven 10 years post qualification experience.
