Job Summary

Role Purpose:

You’ll have a good understanding of core financials of a business across P&L and Balance Sheet. You’re likely to be a finance professional with good business knowledge and industry awareness.

You’ll be a natural when it comes to Relationship Management skills, with an ability to build networks, challenge, influence and agree actions. You’ll be familiar with project change lifecycle, along with knowledge and understanding of project delivery in an engineering services organisation and demonstrate deep understanding of project accounting principles and techniques.

You'll challenge and stretch yourself, helping to drive the business forward and ensuring that Aeocm as an organisation continues to progress towards our strategic aim of becoming the world's premier, fully integrated infrastructure firm.

Aecom Finance comprises a commercially focused team of 16 finance professionals located in Madrid. The Project Accounting team is structured to mirror the teams in Operations.

This is a key role within the Project Accounting team and will report to the Regional Project Accounting Manager based in Madrid.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Month End process. Review and analyse project financials (Billed, Collections, Revenue recognition, AR aging, WIP balances, etc).

  • Assist the Project Manager in the preparation of financial data in Bids and Offers to understand P&L arrangements prior to sign off.

  • Responsibility to review/check that WBS and all other project particulars regarding the project setup process in the system are adhered to and signed off accordingly in Oracle, following compliance guidelines.

  • Support Project Manager in the preparation and checking of Project P&L updates, ensuring appropriate support exists.

  • Ensure that cost transfers are actioned in accordance with internal policy.

  • Confirm Intercompany agreements prepared by Operations are in place.

  • Collaboration with operations and other finance departments to ensure that vendor set up process is seamless;

  • Support Project Managers with the quarterly forex revaluation;

  • Interface with Project Managers and Finance Departments on external audit process;

Minimum Requirements

Skills

  • 2-3 years experience of project accounting, preferably in a multinational.

  • Finance related degree;

  • Experience working with Operations;

  • Excellent written and spoken English is essential;

  • Stakeholder management skills and presence;

  • Experience of managing a complex, multi-million €, dynamic P&L at detail project level.

  • Able to create collaborative relationships and influence key business stakeholders through innovative financial insight, control and interventions.

Preferred Qualifications

Desired skills:

  • Good written and spoken French

  • Knowledge of Oracle Software
