Job Summary

The Operational controller intern , will work under close supervision of the Operational Control Manager, and will be in charge of the following duties and tasks:

His/her duties will include:

Directly assist the Operational Control Manager in the following tasks

  • Budget & financial management of projects: assistance to budget control, supporting documents control. Control, supervision and reporting to Corporate.

  • Financial Modelling and creating ad hoc reporting to support decisions

  • Assit in Audit & Closing down procedures

  • Assist in the analysis of business processes and assit in the identification of bottlenecks and improvements

Support managing multiple project accounting functions, including responsibility for preparation and issuance of reports and statistics reflecting financial results. Administer approved accounting practices at project level to ensure that financial and operating reports accurately reflect the condition of the business and provide reliable information necessary to control operations. Also provides project administrative support and coordination to a complex contract, project, task(s) or business unit.

Minimum Requirements

Training and education:


  • Bachelors in Business Administration, Economics or Finance (agreement with university)

  • Advanced user level computer skills


  • Postgraduate diploma (MS, MBA)

  • Knowledge of EU Aid Development projects:donors,contracting procedures, etc.

Language skills


  • English (at least C2 level in EU standards)


  • Other languages

Personal skills:

  • Analytical and writing skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Interpersonal and communication skills

  • Capacity to meet deadlines and follow several programmes of different nature

  • Competency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

  • Organised, systematic and able to set priorities

Preferred Qualifications

Professional experience:

No prior experience is required, it would be advantage to have professional experience on financial management, and assisting in the analysis of business processes and in the identification of bottlenecks and improvements.
