About the Business Line
AECOM’s Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM’s Government business line and is comprised of three divisions — International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. We optimize the reliability, availability and sustainability of equipment, logistics systems and facilities for clients around the world. GSS supports the U.S. Government, non-U.S. Governments and industry clients with worldwide program management, planning, design, operations and maintenance, logistics, aviation services, security, international development, environmental and civil engineering and mission and intelligence support.
Purpose and Scope:
Responsible for the inspection and examination of a variety of goods, services, operations and processes to ensure conformance to established quality, health, safety, legal, business, ethical or other standards, by performing all and/or any combination of duties and responsibilities as outlined below.
1) Performs in processing and final assembly sheet metal quality control inspections.
2) Interprets and reviews military technical manuals, technical orders, modification work orders and blue prints.
3) Uses tools and equipment associated with a sheet metal shop, such as protractors, calipers, pitch gauges, in order to validate that in process manufacturing and final assemblies meet design specifications and tolerances.
4) Acts as a special technical inspection advisor to the Site/Field Supervisor.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Most positions involve work typical of office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting with occasional use of computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must posses planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines. Some positions involve work in environments (e.g., shipboard, labs, outside locations, etc.) where mechanical equipment, etc. is installed, tested, analyzed/monitored, operated, and/or maintained. Equipment may be loud and noisy or have exposed moving components. Such positions may involve routine lifting up to 50 pounds, regular handling, grasping, kneeling and carrying, and constant use of vision and mental alertness is required. This classification may include managing hazardous materials or other environmental responsibilities.

High School diploma, with five years minimum sheet metal manufacturing experience.
