The Vice President, Global Talent and Leadership Development will create the overall leadership development strategy, framework and supporting initiatives so that AECOM has the leadership talent to deliver on the company business strategy that surpasses business goals. The VP will consult with operating and functional business leaders and will work with the Talent partners around the globe to create and implement an enterprise leadership strategy, pipeline, and programs focused on developing leaders who can lead at all levels in the organization. She/he will work closely to ensure alignment and integration with all talent management initiatives and will report to the Global Talent SVP based in Los Angeles, CA.
Specific areas of responsibility include:
Evolve a leadership development model and framework to ensure AECOM has the current and future leadership capabilities needed. Areas of focus are to refine approach to development of high potentials through a blended learning experience, develop first time leadership training to prepare front line leaders to manage, and ensure all leaders are world class performance and career coaches.
Create a measurement methodology to inform data driven decisions and insights about the identification of critical talent, the impact of leadership strategy and blended development plans, and determine investment strategies for people, programs or supporting technology solutions.
Develop rigorous assessment strategy to promote insights for individual development, enable accelerated executive onboarding plans, and provide multiple data inputs to critical talent decisions.
Enhance talent and succession planning process that identifies potential leaders earlier in their careers for customized development, ensures ready now successors for critical roles, and facilitates robust talent reviews to continuously adjust selection and development process.
Build a development driven coaching program to support planned learning and personal insights.
Educate the talent and learning community across the operating businesses on cutting edge leadership development and adult learning strategies that have implications to HR talent strategies and business operations.
Develop partnerships and act as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders and management advising them on talent decisions.
Build organizational commitment to talent and leadership development initiatives by demonstrating the delivered value of in the investment in the development of employees.
Organize a vendor management strategy to deliver the most value to AECOM and its consulting partners.
Strategic projects as assigned
15+ years’ experience in progressive HR/OD roles leading, creating and facilitating leadership, learning, career development and/or other related OD processes within a large, complex global organization.
Bachelor’s degree required. PhD/MBA preferred.
The successful candidate will be of the highest intellectual caliber, a quick learner with excellent educational credentials. This person will be a professional with high executive demeanor and the confidence to represent the company as a key internal leader and external ambassador
Demonstrated record of success working in a complex, global environment. International experience preferred.
Highly flexible, relationship-oriented individual with experience in the direct development and implementation of talent and executive development methodologies that have been proven drivers of improved business performance.
Deep experience developing executive leadership programs, coaching executives, and leverage executive assessments.
Strategic, business-oriented thinking coupled with hands on operational, implementation experience and the ability to align processes and systems to support the organization’s strategic objectives.
Track record of working collaboratively with a team of corporate and field based HR/Talent Management professionals.
Will bring hands on, practical HR orientation with the ability to effectively interact at all levels of the organization.
Will possess experience working with executive levels in the development and presentation of strategies and execution plans.
Will possess the self-confidence and experience to balance a point of view with incorporating the best solutions from across the company.
Thrive in a matrix environment and promote strong team work across business groups and functions by sharing ideas and information. The position requires strong relationship management skills, high levels of resourcefulness, influence/organizational savvy, strategic vision, execution skills, executive presence.
