Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and hardworking Senior Transportation Engineer for immediate employment in the Los Angeles, CA office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs traffic operational and safety analysis and report preparation

  • Applies established technical approaches, processes, and methods

  • Organizes and performs data collection and field observations

  • Reviews accuracy and appropriateness of data and perform calculations

  • Prepares graphic material and presentations

  • Coordinates assignments under the direction of the Project manager

  • Serves as design or task lead on project studies

  • Coordinates with project team members

  • Assists in proposal preparation and marketing for project studies

  • Performs highway operational analysis using programs such as CORSIM, SYNCHRO, and VISSIM

  • Communicates technical and non-technical information through written and verbal means

  • Writes technical reports and memos in support of planning analysis and environmental review

  • Develops CADD drawings with emphasis in traffic engineering

  • Analyzes and synthesizes qualitative information

  • Attends professional membership activities and events to expand knowledge of how planning principles are implemented in projects

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field

  • 10+ years of experience in transportation planning and engineering related projects

  • Licensed Traffic Engineer

  • Experience with corridor and interchange projects in various stages of the PSR-PDS, PA/ED and Construction in California

  • Experience in managing and preparing traffic impact studies in support of environmental documents

  • Experience in traffic operations analysis

  • Experience with traffic forecast models used in Southern California

  • Able to independently mange, supervise, multitask, and have the capability to learn new software

  • Must be familiar and sufficient with Synchro, Sim Traffic, Highway Capacity Software (HCS), Traffix and Microsoft Office

  • Ability to take initiative, be a self-starter, be detailed oriented, and be organized

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of relevant work experience
