Job Summary

AECOM is a fast-paced global company with the mission to build a better world. We are seeking a Senior Manager, Internal Communications who thrives in a complex cutting-edge business environment. This role will focus on both leading and supporting strategic internal communications in the Americas Design and Consulting Services (DCS), AECOM’s largest operating group. The DCS Americas internal communications team works to engage employees, support leaders and help the business succeed. The position can be based out of the Los Angeles, CA or New York City office.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with the Director, Communications in conjunction with Enterprise Communications, Region/Business Line and Function management, implement targeted internal communication strategies on message and on time

  • Provide executive level leadership communications support for assigned Regions and Business Lines

  • Proactively source content and draft communications across diverse formats and business audiences

  • Secure stakeholder buy-in and approvals and ensure compliance with AECOM policies, branding and internal communications standards

  • Report regularly on progress against business plans and objectives. Review progress with Director, Communications, communicate achievement and forecast emerging issues.

  • Lead change management communications strategy, planning and execution for change initiatives as needed

  • Take ownership for increasing employee engagement through Communications in assigned Regions, Business Lines and Functions

  • Make recommendations for improvements based on insights, best practices and business objectives

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 10+ years progressive experience in strategic internal communications

  • Experience working in a complex organization

  • Expert writer, editor and communicator

  • Ability to work with senior executives from across the organization

  • Highly proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint

  • Confident and strategic world-class communicator

  • Business person who understands the dynamics of a Fortune 500 company

  • Professional who inspires confidence in senior leaders and others

  • Creative problem solver obsessed with continuous improvement

  • Skilled at all forms of communication including speech, words, images, social and web

  • Positive and enthusiastic team player

  • Detail oriented and passionate about great work

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree preferred

  • Experience working in a Fortune 500 company preferred

  • Experience with Newsweaver preferred
