We deliver creative solutions for building projects for industry, government, commercial and leisure sectors. Our building engineering specialists have expertise in structural and building services engineering, fire engineering, acoustics, facades and seismic design. We embed sustainability principles in every design.

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Regional Discipline Lead for immediate employment in the Los Angeles, CA office. The Regional Discipline Lead will drive mechanical design for various needs, with specific focus on ECMs for ESPC type contracts. Projects will range different market sectors with immediate emphasis on Federal Civilian and DoD clients. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:-

  • System analysis

  • Load calculations

  • Equipment selection

  • Development of system narratives (writing, organizing the document, develop images)

  • Proposal development

  • CAD/BIM design

  • Control system design and enhancement

  • Review / Edit specifications

  • Review own work to ensure accuracy (rather than depend on peer review)

  • Interact and work with diverse set of clients and subcontractors

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering or controls appropriate discipline

  • 10+ years of solid mechanical design experience within a consulting, design-build firm, or ESPC firm

  • Professional Engineer license

  • Experience with AutoCAD

  • Strong building system controls experience, with an eye to ECM application

  • Develop robust controls sequence of operations

  • Energy Auditing experience

  • Experience with sustainable design

  • Experience with Design Build and other Alternative Delivery practices

  • Excellent communication skills: articulate, assertive and confident

  • Creative thinker with effective teamwork skills

  • Thrive in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Analyze equipment energy use for optimizing systems selection

  • CEM designation

  • Building Commissioning Experience / designation

  • Experience with Revit

  • Experience in the following markets:

  • Healthcare and Labs
