AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Project Architect for immediate employment in the Los Angeles, CA office.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develop design and construction documents for projects with multi-discipline teams of architects, engineers and consultants for public and private clients
Oversee the work of less experienced architects and designers and be responsible for determining technical objectives of project assignments in conjunction with project management and senior design principals
Develop workable solutions to complex technical problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity
Prepare program analysis, life safety code analysis, concept designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic design, design development and construction drawings and specifications
Adapt and modify design features and operational methods to meet a variety of situations
Lead project team in the execution of design build and other public and private sector projects
Direct architectural design and production team to schedule, implement and coordinate preparation of design and construction documents to office and client standards
Coordinate architectural work with engineering disciplines both in-house and with consultants
Attend client presentation and progress meetings to communicate the design intent and review technical details of projects
Prepare and coordinate architectural details with other architectural team members for consistency with project design intent and office/client standards
Assist in the preparation of work effort estimates for architectural services for Requests For Proposals
Provide regular updates with department and project managers for schedule and budget compliance for architectural services
Bachelor’s Degree in architecture or equivalent required
Licensed as a registered architect, preferably in State of California or with the ability to obtain registration in California
10+ years of documented, progressively responsible experience
Experience working on large Design Build projects
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Highly organized with strong communication and interpersonal skills
Valid driver's license required
Justice and/or Medical project experience desired
Experience with Microsoft Project scheduling application is desirable
Experience with e-Specs or AIA MasterSpec specification software applications desirable
Effective leadership skills
Extensive knowledge and understanding of construction detailing and constructability
