Job Summary


AECOM is looking for a Paralegal who would serve as Legal Intake and Licensing Coordinator for our litigation and corporate legal groups. The Coordinator will work closely with our Global Head of Litigation, Corporate Vice Presidents of Litigation, Senior Corporate Counsel, and Paralegals in the litigation and corporate legal departments.

  • Coordinate the intake, logging, and prompt distribution of all legal process served on the company, including by reviewing legal documents, understanding the legal department structure, effectively communicating with company lawyers and other appropriate points of contact, inputting and tracking matter information in electronic claims management databases, and serving as the central point of contact for the litigation department on service of process issues.

  • Assist the corporate legal department with processing and maintaining all state professional licensing efforts on behalf of the company, including timely license renewals.

  • Support the litigation and corporate legal teams with daily tasks and responsibilities as directed.

  • Perform legal and other research as requested.

  • Support attorneys and legal staff with internal information requests.

Minimum Requirements

  • 2+ years of paralegal or other similar litigation and/or corporate law experience at a law firm and/or large corporation.

  • Completion of an ABA-approved paralegal program.

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • Self-motivated, flexible candidate, who has the ability to anticipate legal department needs, work under pressure, and handle highly confidential information with utmost discretion.

  • Initiative, planning and organizational skills, follow-through, accuracy and meticulous attention to detail are critical.

  • Team attitude that no job is too big or too small.

  • Ability to work in a high activity/fast paced environment and manage associated stress.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively work with various departments and levels within company.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Experience with computer systems: fluency in MS Office required.

  • Familiarity with issues related to service of process, legal matter management systems, and e-billing is a plus but not required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of state professional licensing practices (contractors, architectural and engineering) is a plus but not required.

  • Local candidates preferred
