Job Summary

We are seeking a creative, organized Marketing Proposal Specialist for immediate hire in our Los Angeles, CA office location. The Proposal Coordinator will play an important role in the success of AECOM’s business through the production of related documents, including proposals, statements of qualification, and presentations.

The candidate will:

  • Function as a fully competent professional in all aspects of proposals

  • Independently plan and conduct work that requires judgment and decision making through the proposal/marketing process

  • Coordinate and manage the process for assigned proposal and presentation efforts and marketing/business development materials

  • Ensure client focus is woven into proposals and marketing materials

  • Assist in writing some sections for proposals

  • Support proposal production efforts including final assembly and coordinating delivery

  • Develop slides for presentations

  • Coordinate with other AECOM offices and partner firms on proposal and presentation efforts

  • Be involved in proposal strategy meetings and help develop ‘win’ themes for proposals

  • Conduct quality assurance/quality control on proposals

  • Occasional travel on behalf of the company to other office locations as needed/required

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field (business, marketing, etc.)

  • 4+ years’ experience in the AE industry and experience and strengths in: Proposal development and production, including integration of detailed technical concepts into an effective and cohesive sales document or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities and experience

  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and Excel

  • Page layout and graphic presentation of documents to amplify and simplify the communication of themes and technical details

  • Excellent time-management skills, including the ability to balance competing priorities and requirements

  • Ability to coordinate multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast paced environment

  • Ability to develop proposal outlines, schedule and task assignments for compliance with RFQ/RFP requirements

  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate with internal/external clients

  • Ability to interpret, coordinate and execute complex marketing and/or production tasks

  • Experience and skill at reviewing, organizing, translating and editing written documents to improve clarity

  • Ability to conduct final QA/QC check, including proofreading for grammar and RFP compliance and checking for conformance to established strategies and plans

  • Ability to take initiative in anticipating tasks and to look for ways to add value to the process/procedures

  • Intensive and diversified knowledge of marketing and proposal principles in the coordination and production of proposals, presentations, as well as other business development/marketing materials

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graphic design skills

  • Water/Wastewater/Water Resources industry knowledge and experience
